West Ham Vs Blackburn | Roberts shot not over the line
Description of incident: From a Blackburn corner the ball bounced to Roberts whose shot bounced towards goal only for Carlton Cole to hook the ball clear at the last moment. The ref ignored Blackburn's appeals for a goal.
Date of Game: Saturday 30th January 2010
Home Team: West Ham | Away Team: Blackburn Rovers
Referee: Peter Walton | Linesman: Simon Beck & Phil Sharp
Decision Type: Goal line | Verdict: | Decision Difficulty: 4/5
Affect on Result: N/A | Winner: West Ham | Loser: Blackburn Rovers
Players Involved: Jason Roberts (Blackburn) & Carlton Cole (West Ham)
Summary: It was an extremely tight call and the referee and linesman did well to get it right in a packed penalty area. Things were made extra difficult as the ball was a few feet off the ground when it reached the goal. But having seen the replays I think it is clear that whole ball did not cross the line. Right decision.
